"Para-event" is a site-specific installation that is set around three archival documents, all of which are records of the failure of American military machines inside Iran in the past three decades. My approach is similar to a fictive investigation around these military events. The installation provides different photographic and text-based clues to the viewers with which they can follow the translator (the main character in this installation), whose job is to investigate photographic evidence and dis/approve their authenticity and credibility. Text plays a central role in this installation. In some ways, it is a translation of visual information and archival photographs into light and words, or in other words, the basics of photography; light and paper.
